What is a video course?

Video courses are asynchronous batches that learners can watch and learn at their own time and pace. The course content includes pre-recorded batches, assignments, quizzes, and study materials. You can publish your video course on Tutorac to share your knowledge with our global audience and earn monthly revenue.

Benefits of publishing video course on Tutorac

  • 1Get discovered by learners around the globe

Publishing your course on Tutorac gives you exposure to a huge and ever-growing global audience. Further, Tutorac will match your course with the right learners, helping you get discovered and build your audience.

  • 2Own your course and content

We understand the hard work it takes to create a quality course. That’s why we want you to keep full ownership of your courses and content published on the platform. This means your courses are non-exclusive to Tutorac, and you are free to host it anywhere else.

  • 3Earn higher revenue

One of the biggest perks you enjoy as a tutor on Tutorac is earning high revenue. We offer 50% of the monthly revenue to our tutors, which is higher than any leading platform in the industry. This means you will earn the most out of your course with Tutorac.

Tutorac video course structure

Tutorac video courses are organized in a three-part structure that includes an introduction video, the curriculum, and a conclusion video. Here are some ‌things to keep in mind while designing the course:

  • Introduction video

The introduction video is a brief standalone video explaining what the course is all about. It's generally the first thing that learners will watch on your course description page. It's also the only video preview available to non-members. So this is your chance to introduce yourself to the learners, provide adequate course information, and create excitement about what they are going to learn.

  • Curriculum

The curriculum section includes videos lessons, quizzes, assignments, and study materials. Here are some of the things to keep in mind while creating the course curriculum:

    • Ensure that all video lessons follow a logical sequence that progresses the learners through the course.
    • Keep the videos short, covering one topic at a time. Short videos facilitate the processing of information more efficiently and provide a better learning experience.
    • Add a clear title and an optional description for each video lesson.
    • You can even add quizzes and assignments to make the learning more engaging.

Note: Assignments cannot be added to academic courses.

  • Conclusion video

The conclusion video is the closing of your course. This is where you can reinforce the learning by summarizing the key topics covered in the course. You can also provide the learners with the next steps to take and even refer to other courses on Tutorac.

What is a live training course?

Live training course in Tutorac allows you to create and deliver interactive live batches online. You’ll be able to create your course curriculum, set the price for your course, and schedule training batches.

Creating a live training is a two-step process:

Step 01

Add your live training course content — sections, topics, assignments, quizzes, and study resources.

Step 02

Create a training ad to schedule training and enroll learners.

A training ad can be a Public Ad — allowing anyone on the platform to enroll, or it can be a Training Contract — available only to invited learners.

What is a training ad?

After adding your live course to the platform, the next step is to create a training ad for learners. With a training ad, you’ll be able to create batches for the course, schedule class time, set the price of the course, and choose payment options. Further, a training ad will allow learners to check the course details and enroll in it.

With Public Ad, you can…
  • Create one or multiple batches for the course
  • Create a training schedule and class time
  • Set price and payments options for the course
A training ad can be of two types:
  • 1Public Ad
  • 2Training Contract

What is a Public Ad?

A Public Ad makes your live training course available publicly on the platform. Once you create a Public Ad, your training course will be visible in search results and in the live course listings. All the registered learners can preview your Public Ad and enroll in the course through it.

With Public Ad, you can…
  • Publish your course and make it publicly available
  • Deliver training in groups
  • Create multiple training batches of one course

What is a Training Contract?

A training contract allows you to create a private course or class where only the invited learners can enroll. Once you create a training contract, you can invite learners to review your course offerings and enroll in it.

With training contract, you can…
  • Deliver training to specific learners or groups (Including learners who are not registered on Tutorac)
  • Provide 1-on-1 training of your public live course to specific learners
  • Deliver training to learners who hired you

What are 'schedule' and 'class' in the training ad?

While creating an ad, you can create a schedule for your training. You can schedule the training daily, weekly (Monday-Friday), or on weekends (Saturdays & Sundays). For training contracts, you can even schedule training on specific days.

Once you create the training schedule, you'll be able to select the time slots and create one or multiple training batches. Here's an example:

Training schedule: March 1-March 5

Class 1 time: 9 a.m-10 a.m

Class 2 time: 4 p.m-5 p.m

What is a milestone?

A milestone is a training deliverable for which you'll receive the payment.

While creating a training ad, you can create a single milestone of your course and receive the full payment, or you can divide your course into multiple milestones and receive payment in installments.

Here's the detail of when you should use single and multiple milestones.
  • Single milestone

Create a single milestone to receive the payment in full. This option is ideal for short courses.

  • Multiple milestones

Create multiple milestones to break your course into multiple deliverables and set a price for each. This option is a good way to set clear expectations of what you'll teach in the course and provide ease of payment to the learners. The multiple milestone option is ideal for long courses.

What is a demo?

You can offer a free demo or a demonstration of your live training to the learners before they decide to enroll in your course.

For learners, a demo helps them get a glimpse into your course and your teaching style before they pay for it. While for you, it provides a wonderful opportunity to convince your prospective learners to enroll in your course.

How does the demo work?

Any learner interested in your course can request a demo class. However, it's up to you whether you accept the request. If you decide to accept the request, you can schedule a demo and send it to the learner.

What's a co-worker? (For organization account)
